If you are carrying out an online article submissions programme, then you should be producing a regular stream of articles. The question is, where on earth do you get all this original, educational , helpful content?

Within this article, I will share with you some of the sources that have given me inspiration for my articles, and perhaps after seeing this list you will find a number of untapped resources for content that you had completely overlooked:

1 - E-books that you have written.

Over the years I have put together many e-books, and a couple of weeks ago I came across one that I had not read in a while. It had been so long since I'd read it that the content was fresh , and I found it very inspring.

I looked through the table of contents and picked out some ideas that looked really exciting to me and would be really interesting for my readers.

The beauty of getting article topics from your hard copy or e-books (on your topic, of course) is that you don't have to re-write the material.

You see, if you have content on your website that you could re-purpose as a free reprint article, you have to rewrite the article so that the content on your own website remains unique. However, if this content is in the form of an e-book a rewrite is unecessary, as that content is not published on the web.

It is fine to pick out sections of your e-book and change them to be used in a free reprint article. It's also ok for the wording to be repeated verbatim. You will probably need to add an introductory paragraph and a concluding one so that it does not read like an excerpt from a book, but that is minimal compared to creating an article from scratch.

Do you have some e-books that you have created on your specific topic? Brilliant—your article writing just got far, far easier.

2 - Questions from potential customers.

Every week my mailbox is full of enquiries from potential customers, existing customers, and other people who are just interested in finding out more about article marketing.

A number of these enquiries reveal a common misconception about my own particular niche. When I read through the explanation in my reply I usually realise that the answers to the questions actually make the basis for a great article. Especially if there are numerous people enquiring about the same thing, an article that sets things straight will be really useful for many more people. I am sure you have heard them say--if one person asks, there are likely several more wondering the same thing!

3 - Solving people's problems.

Occassionally people may contact you to ask for help with on a problem that they have come across in your own particular niche. An example that springs to mind is a woman who made contact with me to say that she was just burnt out on writing. She'd been writing articles for article marketing for a while, and she now had writer's block.

I could really sense her frustration and despair, and I thought to myself, "I know exactly how this feels. I am convinved other people are going through this now and could definitely use some help."

So, I wrote an article to address her specific and real problem and gave encouragement and tips that would help her overcome a writing slump.

Often people contact me regarding other problems thy are facing—normally there is some emotional element causing them to be worried, afraid or exhausted. In the extremely technical field of website marketing, it really is very easy to get overwhelmed by the volume of information out there. When starting a new skill, it is easy to become fearful of how you will catch on.

In a case like this, what I really want to do is to encourage and reassure them. Most of the time, an encouraging reply email often inspires an article that looks at that same problem.

As article marketers, we are writing content that must be assisting people in some way. We want to encourage, educate and enlighten.

You probably do that all the time when you are carrying out your normal everyday work, and you are not even thinking about articles. Your challenge is to look for these kinds of situations in your own life and consider how you may use them to create helpful articles.
